Responsible Gambling
Updated 7 May 2026
Gambling should be a form of entertainment, not a way to make money or recover losses. Set a budget, set a time limit and stop when either is reached.
Tools on gambling websites
Licensed UK sites must offer safer gambling tools — for example deposit and loss limits, reality checks, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion. You will find them in your account area on each brand’s site or app.
Signs to watch for
- Spending more time or money than planned.
- Chasing losses or borrowing to gamble.
- Hiding gambling activity from people close to you.
- Feeling anxious, low or irritable when not gambling.
Free UK support
- GamCare — free advice and the National Gambling Helpline (0808 8020 133).
- BeGambleAware — information, self-assessment tools and treatment referrals.
- GAMSTOP — free national self-exclusion across UK-licensed gambling sites.
- UK Gambling Commission — the regulator for gambling in Great Britain; general information for consumers.
